Breakfast at Eight

Our new neighborhood is filled with deer.

Our house sits on the lakeshore side of the drive, but on the other side of the drive to our house is a large oak grove filled with deer! They are EVERYWHERE. Every time of day you can see their white tails as they hop out of the yard or away from Sogn on one of our walks.

One of the neighbors down the drive feeds them breakfast at eight a.m. every day. When there's a large tray of corn they aren't so keen to flee back into the woods and I get an incredible deer sighting almost every day on my way to work.

  1. i really enjoy your pictures of the woods and lakes in mn. these deer remind me of deer on the gunflint fed in the winter by the various lodges. i find myself missing mn more and more these days, and eating my words from when i lived there about how everywhere else was just as good (i am sure you can say 'i told you so'). hello to calhoun, hope he is getting some hunting and fishing done at your new locale. we miss you guys.
